Practice Areas
Workers’ Compensation Defense
Walter G. Benjamin is an associate at Moran Kidd, having joined the firm in 2005. His practice is focused on workers’ compensation litigation. Walter has concentrated in the area of workers’ compensation law since 1989, however, prior to that he practiced criminal defense, an area of law in which he gained significant trial experience.
Walter currently represents employers and insurance carriers, handling every variety of workers’ compensation case, including single trauma, repetitive trauma, exposure, occupational disease, heart attack, and death cases. As his early experience in the field of workers’ compensation law came from representing injured workers, Walter is able to provide employers and carriers with a unique insight into the claims he defends. Walter litigates multiparty complex cases, handles the resolution of workers’ compensation liens and Medicare and Medicaid liens, and also litigates rule nisi actions before the Circuit Court.
In addition to trying countless cases before trial courts, Walter has also handled numerous appeals for which he has prepared appellate briefs, and made oral argument before the First District Court of Appeal.
